Worthing High School

Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is open 8am–5pm every day.

It is split across two distinct spaces – a library of nearly 9,000 books and a suite of 30 networked computers.

It is a welcoming space for learning, reading and homework, as well as access to integrated iPads, colour printing, a large new non-fiction section and a well-equipped stationery shop. It is open and staffed from 9am to 5pm every weekday by Learning Resource Centre Manager Mrs A Regan and Learning Resource Centre Assistant Mr N Hallard. They can be contacted by email on: lrc@worthinghigh.net

Reading for fun when you are young means better mental and physical health, higher grades at GCSE, improved relationships and higher job income as adults. Students in Years 7 – 9 will attend an hour-long ‘Literacy Lesson’ each fortnight, and can access the library during the day to borrow, renew or return books.

Everyone using the Learning Resource Centre is subject to adhering to the code of conduct and these are on display in the Learning Resource Centre. This ensures the smooth running of all aspects of the Learning Resource Centre and a productive working environment.
